Red sandalwood has historically been valued in China, particularly during the Qing Dynasty periods, and is referred to in Chinese as 'Zitan(紫檀) and spelt tzu-t'an by earlier western authors when they introduced classical Chinese hardwood furniture to the west.

An exquisite chair made of red sandalwood can be seen today in China's Forbidden City in Beijing, inside the Hall of Supreme Harmony, and once used by the emperors of the Qing Dynasty.

Due to its slow growth and rarity, things made of 'Zitan' is rare and expensive. It has been one of the most prized woods for millennia.

The design of this comb is inspired by the ancient pattern of Phoenix in Chinese nephrite jade artworks.

We made the pattern of phoenix more abstract and simple, focus on the combination of line and surface.

With the curved line, the comb is very comfortable to hold.

Every time you use this comb, it is an enjoyable experience.

You can also use the curved back side to make some massage on your scalp.

The comb is made by two parts which are connect with mortise-and-tenon joints. No glue and nails are used.

Mortise-and-tenon joints are used in traditional Chinese furnitures and architectures. But the mortise-and-tenon joints used here is micro version, which demands more skills and higher accuracy.

The comb is finished with great craftsmanship.

There is neither lacquer nor wax on the comb. You can easily enjoy a pleasant red sandalwood scent when you comb your hair with Red Phoenix.

The shimmer appearance of the comb comes from thousands times of careful hand-polishing of high quality Zitan.

Use the red sandalwood comb everyday has a great beneficial to your hair and scalp.

The comb should avoid to be soaked in the water and use with chemical hair products. It is not recommended to rub the comb on a white fabric heavily because red sandalwood may spread its colour to other fabric.
